In La Punta Zicatela, the international surf capital, the new boutique hotel CASA TO has opened its doors to visitors who seek to take a pause to reconnect with a contemplative experience in surroundings of abundant conceptual elegance and total serenity.
Located in a place with golden sunsets where the sea, the sand, and the cliffs form a unique panorama, and embraced by a peaceful natural setting, CASA TO reflects simplicity and conceptual elegance, bringing together tradition and the avant-garde.
The structure reminds of the reticulated pattern of two historical hydraulic works – the Basilica Cistern of Istanbul and the Hornsey Wood Reservoir in London.
At CASA TO privacy and exposure interplay, and aesthetics and functionality interweave, the architect emphasizing the honesty of the textures of the raw materials, such as concrete, steel, clay and wood.
The structure favors cool air and provides protection from the outdoor heat. The six rooms on the ground floor have gardens, while the other three on the upper level offer a terrace and outdoor bath.
The centerpiece of CASA TO is the covered infinity pool and solarium.
The pool has rectilinear lines, exposed loadbearing walls, lightweight structures and open-plan interiors, alluding to the signature style of Le Corbusier.
At CASA TO consciousness and sustainability are expressed in its commitment to reducing its environmental impact by using a water treatment plant to reuse wastewater for the planted areas and solar panels to store energy and by adopting a zero-plastics policy.
