LOCATION – Kyiv, Ukraine
ARCHITECTURE – Loft Buro
Intended to serve as a hiding place for solitary meditations and relaxation from urban bustle or as a place for warm meetings with close friends and communication, the chalet fits perfectly into the natural landscape.
The building on stilts is elevated above the ground. The decoration of the facade is made exclusively of natural materials: corten steel, wood, and terracotta slabs.
From the outside, the austere and minimalist building has enormous stained glass windows to incorporate the vast and varied panorama of the garden into the interior.
To fully merge with nature, the panoramic windows are oriented to the sunrise so that the morning reminds of the arrival of a new day.
External asceticism disappears inside due to the play of colors, materials and textures.
Bamboo on the ceiling between the beams creates a metric pattern.
Vintage wood was used for tables and chests of drawers. The floor is made of a unique Italian handmade terracotta tile.
A metal screen in traditional oriental ornaments limits the entrance from the dining area.
An accent detail is a hovering open fireplace against the backdrop of a garden and a river.
Like the motif of Chinese lanterns, chandeliers of bright, fiery color bring an incendiary mood into the room.
The whole room is filled with carefully selected antiques.
