LEGO® Campus is complex that consists of eight building parts, merged to create a single continuous work and play space for 2000 employees.
Located in a large park that is open to the public, the bright and flexible office spaces come together around a spectacular atrium.
The building is integrated in the park with the help of outdoor meeting spaces, walk routes and play areas, which break down the barriers between inside and outside, stimulating innovation.
The playful design is expressed by the use of LEGO bricks in the exterior walls, two gigantic yellow bricks on the roof, and an entryway made of bricks.
With a focus on sustainability, the rooftops of the buildings are covered with Sedum plants which absorb water and CO2 and rainwater is used to irrigate the green parks in the campus area.
Inside, a special gypsum fibre board material was preferred as it requires less steel framing.
The facade is designed to both maximize interior daylight and minimize cooling requirements.
A culture and activity hub is located at the ground floor and comprises shared facilities, including a sports hall, event spaces and hotel accommodation.
The upper floors include spaces for work and play activities to support creativity and innovation.
Where the individual building parts overlap, small squares with brightly colored stairways form social nodes and wayfinding markers.
Green roofs, durable materials, enhanced biodiversity, all make LEGO Campus a highly sustainable complex which meets the strictest Danish 2020 energy certification requirements.
