The design solution of the gelaterie draws on ice-cream itself.
Just as an ice-cream melts, the gelaterie’s massive ceiling flows down into smooth curves of the metal walls.
The cafe has two floors and the entire kitchen is located on the floor below, making it possible to address the technical limitations of the kitchen and make the hall the focus of attention.
Because the gelateria is in an old, historic building, this had a strong influence on the design and technical decisions. Therefore, the designers decided to keep the ready-made, richly decorated ceiling and make it part of the overall concept.
To address the limitations of old wooden floors in old buildings, the designers chose to use microcement because it is a lightweight coating that does not put pressure on the floor. The single surface of the floor without joints allows to shift the entire focus of the visitor’s attention to the walls and ceiling.
The interior solution agreed by the design team uses one solid metal wave which addressed both the aesthetic side and the tight deadline for project completion.
An installation of light at the entrance makes people feel, from the first steps, captured and lures them inside.
The accent of the design concept is purple. It is this color that lights up the logo in the interior and the entire room.
The bathroom continues the idea of minimalism – the whole interior is metal, with light panels and a bright blue floor.
